About Us

Brunswick Area Rec Coun­cil (BARC) is a non­profit recre­ation group of cit­i­zens who are inter­ested in extend­ing recre­ation oppor­tu­ni­ties to the Brunswick region. BARC Mis­sion is to pro­vide well-rounded recre­ation to the area by offer­ing var­i­ous types of events at a rea­son­able cost so they are fam­ily friendly. BARC is all vol­un­teers who enjoy cre­at­ing the unusual events and then watch­ing the excite­ment and joy of all who attend.

Events

The BARC plan and assist on many events in the Brunswick area and within Fred­er­ick County. A Few of the events the BARC plan are:

  • Scot­tish First Footing
  • Freezin’ for a Reason
  • Oldies But Good­ies Dance
  • For­est of Need­wood Race
  • Veteran’s Day parade

Meet­ings

BARC meets on the first Mon­day of the month at Brunswick High School Library at 7:00 pm. Brunswick High School is located at 101 Cum­mings Dr., Brunswick, MD 21716.
The BARC meet­ings are open to the pub­lic and we enjoy hav­ing new mem­bers and vol­un­teers. If you are inter­ested in becom­ing a vol­un­teer or mem­ber, please con­tact us. We area also inter­ested in hear­ing any ideas you might have! Feel free to sug­gest an event to BARC!
